Day of Giving: It all started with a dream

On June 9, 2011, a dream became reality.

On that day, community members, families, volunteers, and supporters gathered at Boyce Mayview Park for the groundbreaking of what would become Casey's Clubhouse Stadium. What began as a vision from Pittsburgh native and 3-time MLB All-Star Sean Casey to create a place where individuals with disabilities could experience the joy of baseball has grown into something much bigger than anyone imagined.

Today, Casey's Clubhouse serves more than 1,100 participants each year from over 70 zip codes throughout the region. What started as a baseball field has become a community where friendships are formed, confidence is built, jobs are created, and families find a place where they belong.

More Than Baseball

For 15 years, Casey's Clubhouse has provided opportunities that many individuals with disabilities never thought possible.

Athletes have hit their first home runs, crossed finish lines in adaptive races, earned their first paychecks through the Next Inning Program, traveled across the country with teammates, and discovered the confidence to try new things both on and off the field.

Every player is paired with a peer MVP (most valuable partner), creating friendships that remove barriers and bring people together through teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.

Because of supporters like you, our athletes aren't sitting on the sidelines. They're taking the field.

Why June 9 Matters

June 9 is more than an anniversary.

It's a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around a common purpose.

The field, playground, concession stand, travel experiences, job training opportunities, and countless memories created over the years all began with a single act of generosity and a belief that every person deserves the opportunity to participate.

The Day of Giving allows us to continue that work for the next generation of athletes and families.

Your support helps provide:

  • Baseball leagues for children and adults with disabilities

  • The peer MVP program

  • Next Inning job training and employment opportunities

  • Adaptive camps and clinics

  • Travel experiences that create lifelong memories

  • Equipment, uniforms, and facility improvements

  • New opportunities through our future expansion projects
