Through hands-on training in our concession stands, participants gain real-world work experience in a supportive, adaptive environment. They learn valuable skills like customer service, money management, food preparation, and teamwork, all while earning a paycheck and building their resume.

The Impact of Inclusive Employment

But the impact goes far beyond job skills. For many of our participants, The Next Inning is a life changing experience. 

One family shared that they expected they would need to be a "forever job coach" for their son. After participating in the Next Inning, that belief began to change. With each shift, each interaction, and each new responsibility, he demonstrated that he was capable of much more than anyone had imagined.

"I wanted to send you a quick note of thanks. What you do everyday impacts our loved ones. My son is now proudly working at Chick-Fil-A. He loves it! After only six shifts at his new job, his job coach is fading (a huge yay!). We had been told by his transition program that he would need a forever job coach. I truly believe his confidence and skills were made ready by the Next Inning program where competence is presumed and respect is given. So, from a mom, thank you. Thank you for seeing our kids as people with so much to offer. What you do and we do as an organization makes a difference!"

As Casey's Clubhouse founder Sean Casey often notes, this program hits close to home. "Growing up, I watched my brother struggle to find his place in the workforce," Casey shares. "I know the challenges adults with disabilities face, and I also know how much they have to offer. The Next Inning is about giving them the opportunity to show what they're capable of."

• For Participants: If you're an adult with a disability in the Pittsburgh area looking to build job skills and jumpstart your career, The Next Inning is for you. We're currently accepting applications for our fall cohort. No prior work experience required! 

• For Volunteers: Be part of the magic by volunteering as a job coach or mentor. You'll work one-on-one with our participants, providing support, guidance, and plenty of high-fives as they build new skills and confidence.

• For Donors: Help us stock the concession stand that powers our training program. We've created an Amazon Wishlist with all the tools and equipment we need to give our participants a top-notch training experience. Every spatula and popcorn scoop makes a difference.
