The Sean Casey Golf Classic: The Best Round You'll Ever Play

"Golf is a game that is played on a five-inch course. The distance between your ears."Â

Every great golf movie has a beginning. There's the underdog. The dream. The cast of characters who somehow come together for something bigger than themselves. There are great shots, bad breaks, stories that get taller with every hole, and friendships that last long after the final putt drops.
The Sean Casey Golf Classic has become its own kind of golf movie. The best part? We're still writing the script.
The First Tee
Fifteen years ago, there wasn't a grand plan. There wasn't a sold-out field of golfers. There weren't major sponsors lining up to support the mission. There certainly wasn't a record-breaking fundraising total. The very first Sean Casey Golf Classic raised a whopping...$1,000.
That's it.
At the time, Casey's Clubhouse was just getting started. Sean Casey had a vision to create opportunities for individuals with disabilities through baseball and community, and a handful of people believed in that dream enough to grab their clubs and spend a day on the course.
One of those people was Walter Martin.
A former Casey's Clubhouse board member, Walter saw an opportunity to combine his love of golf with a cause that was quickly becoming close to his heart.
"I wanted to find a way that I could bring value and help raise money for the kids,"Â Walter says. "What started as an awareness outing has turned into an incredible event, supported by so many golfers each and every year. It's amazing to see how this community continues to show up for Casey's Clubhouse."
Fifteen years later, Walter is still leading the charge. That's saying something.
Sean Casey Golf Classic: Playing The Long Game
Golf teaches patience. Nobody walks onto the first tee expecting to shoot a perfect round. You play the long game. You celebrate the good shots. You shake off the bad ones. You come back next year hoping to do a little better. That sounds a lot like Casey's Clubhouse.

Year after year, the Golf Classic has grown. A few foursomes turned into dozens. A small fundraiser became one of the organization's signature events. Last year, the Sean Casey Golf Classic reached a milestone nobody could have imagined during that first outing. Together, golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters raised a record-breaking $72,000 for Casey's Clubhouse.
From $1,000 to $72,000.
Not because of one incredible shot. Because of fifteen years of people believing in the mission.
A Course Worth Playing
Of course, every great tournament deserves a great setting. Nestled in the rolling hills of western Pennsylvania, Valley Brook Country Club provides exactly that. Beautiful fairways. Rolling greens. Tree-lined holes.
Scenic views that make you want to pause for a second before your next shot. The course offers challenges for experienced golfers while remaining welcoming for players who are just out to enjoy a great day with friends and clients. The clubhouse itself has become part of the tradition. Golfers gather before the round to catch up and swap stories. After eighteen holes, everyone comes together again to celebrate the day, share some food and drink, and hear about the incredible impact their support has made.
It's hard to imagine a better place for a community to come together.
More Than Golf
Sean Casey spent twelve years in Major League Baseball. One thing he learned during his career was that success isn't about one swing. It's about teammates. It's about showing up. It's about lifting the people around you.
That's exactly what happens at the Sean Casey Golf Classic. Every drive down the fairway helps create opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Every sponsorship helps fund programs that create friendships, confidence, and lifelong memories. Every golfer becomes part of a story that's much bigger than the game itself.
Because of supporters like you, Casey's Clubhouse continues to provide baseball leagues, travel experiences, job training opportunities through Next Inning, strength and wellness programs, camps, and so much more. You're not just playing golf. You're helping someone discover what they're capable of.

The Best Score of the Day
Here's the funny thing about golf. A month from now, most golfers won't remember their score. They won't remember the three-putt on number seven. They won't remember the drive that found the woods.

They'll remember the laughs.
They'll remember the conversations.
They'll remember the friendships.
They'll remember Sean Casey stopping by to tell a story.
They'll remember Walter Martin making sure everything ran smoothly.
They'll remember a community coming together for a cause that matters.
And they'll remember that somewhere, because they showed up, a child with a disability stepped onto a baseball field for the first time.
A teenager found confidence through a new experience.
A young adult found a job through Next Inning.
A family found a place where they belonged.
That's the real trophy.
The Sean Casey Golf Classic started with a simple idea and a $1,000 fundraiser. Fifteen years later, it's become one of the biggest traditions at Casey's Clubhouse. Like every great golf movie, it's filled with memorable characters, incredible moments, and a story worth telling. The difference is, this one isn't ending anytime soon.
We're already looking forward to the next round.
We hope you'll join us on the first tee.
