The Playground Where Everyone Belongs

The Clubhouse Playground was designed for kids and adults with disabilities as a place where they could play alongside their peers and friends.

When people visit Casey's Clubhouse for the first time, they usually come to watch a baseball game. But before long, they discover another place filled with just as much laughter, excitement, and unforgettable memories.

Just across from the field sits Casey's Clubhouse Playground, a place where inclusion doesn't stop at the baselines.

Opened in May 2015, the playground was built by the community, for the community. Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors, volunteers, businesses, and families who believed every child deserves a place to play, Casey's Clubhouse raised more than $1 million to build not only our baseball field, but also this one-of-a-kind playground. More than a decade later, it continues to welcome thousands of children and families each year.

From the very beginning, the vision was simple.

Create a playground where children with disabilities and children without disabilities could play together, side by side.

That idea shaped every decision.

Designed With Purpose

Unlike many playgrounds that add a few accessible features after the fact, Casey's Clubhouse Playground was intentionally designed from the ground up with inclusion at its heart.

Every detail matters.

The Pittsburgh-inspired skyline features recognizable landmarks like the Clemente Bridge, PPG Place, the Highmark Building, and even a 3D version of The Point. The baseball theme ties everything together, celebrating the game that brought our community together in the first place.

But it's what you don't immediately notice that makes the playground truly special.

The Clemente Bridge is wide enough for two wheelchairs to travel side by side, allowing friends and siblings to explore together instead of taking turns.

The playground includes both metal and plastic slides so children with cochlear implants can safely choose the surface that's right for them.

Adaptive swings sit right beside traditional swings, allowing children of all abilities to swing together instead of apart.

Transfer-accessible climbers, elevated wheelchair-accessible play areas, musical instruments, educational activities, color transitions for children with visual impairments, and tactile discovery elements throughout the playground were all carefully selected to create an experience where everyone belongs.

Nothing was accidental.

Every feature answers the same question.

One of the greatest things about Casey's Clubhouse Playground isn't something you can install.

It's what happens every day.

You'll see children who use wheelchairs racing across the Clemente Bridge with their friends. You'll hear siblings making music together. You'll watch kids who have never met before invent games without worrying about differences.

Inclusion happens naturally when everyone shares the same space.

Children don't see limitations.

They see someone new to play with.

That's exactly what this playground was built to encourage.

A playground like this doesn't stay beautiful by accident.

While Casey's Clubhouse raised the funds to build this incredible destination through the generosity of our community, it takes an ongoing partnership to keep it safe, clean, and ready for families every day.

We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Upper St. Clair Township, whose commitment to maintaining Boyce Mayview Park helps ensure Casey's Clubhouse Playground remains one of the premier inclusive playgrounds in our region. Together, Casey's Clubhouse and the Township share a common goal: creating a welcoming place where every child and every family can make lifelong memories.

It's a partnership that reflects what makes this community so special. When nonprofits, local government, businesses, volunteers, and neighbors come together around a common mission, amazing things happen.

Every smile, every friendship, and every memory made on this playground is possible because our community continues to believe that inclusion is worth investing in.

At Casey's Clubhouse, we believe play has no age limit and no eligibility requirements.

Whether you're two or eighty-two.

Whether you have a disability or not.

Whether you're visiting after a baseball game, stopping by after school, or simply looking for a fun afternoon with your family.

Everyone deserves to play.

That belief has become part of who we are.

Our athletes often finish a game and head straight to the playground with their buddies. Brothers, sisters, classmates, grandparents, parents, volunteers, and neighbors all become part of the same experience.

The playground isn't separate from our mission.

It is our mission.

It's another place where friendships begin, confidence grows, barriers disappear, and our community grows stronger together.

Casey's Clubhouse Playground is open to the public year-round from dawn to dusk and is located in Boyce Mayview Park at 1551 Mayview Road, Upper St. Clair, PA 15241, directly across from the Upper St. Clair Community & Recreation Center.
