Responsibilities of a Casey’s Clubhouse Umpire
  1. Know the Rules
    Familiarize yourself with the Casey’s Clubhouse Major League Division rules.
  2. Arrive Early
    Arrive 15 minutes before game time to ensure you’re prepared.
  3. Dress Appropriately
    Wear an umpire or referee shirt. If you don’t have one, a shirt will be provided by Casey’s Clubhouse and must be returned after the game.
  4. Build Relationships
    Engage with coaches and players to foster a positive, encouraging environment.
  5. Game Time Commitment
    Be available for 2 game time slots, as assigned.
  6. Make Calls Clearly
    • Call Safe or Out at the bases.
    • Notify the coach (pitcher) when a batter has had 8 pitches, indicating they have 4 pitches remaining.
  7. Assist as Needed
    • If the batter does not hit the ball after 12 pitches, place a tee on home plate to allow the batter to continue.
    • Be ready to assist with catching if needed.
