Sean Casey, a 12-year Major League first baseman and three-time National League All-Star, had an impressive career batting .302 with 130 home runs and 735 RBIs. Casey played for the Indians (1997), Reds (1998-2005), Pirates (2006), Tigers (2006-07), and Red Sox (2008), and was in the top 10 for National League batting average three times, hitting above .300 in six seasons. After being traded to the Tigers in 2006, he shined in the World Series, hitting .529 with two home runs. Notably, he’s the only player in MLB history to open two new stadiums with the first hit: a single at Miller Park in Milwaukee and a home run at PNC Park.
An alum of the University of Richmond, Casey was named the Reds’ MVP with the Ernie Lombardi Award in 2004 and inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame in 2012. Known as "The Mayor" for his likable personality, Casey transitioned seamlessly to MLB Network as a commentator and studio analyst, contributing to an Emmy-winning team on MLB Tonight. He now hosts the popular podcast The Mayor’s Office, featuring top sports guests and in-depth conversations on the game, life’s challenges, and developing success strategies. Casey’s talent for storytelling and his energetic personality make his keynote speeches a unique blend of humor, motivation, and actionable insights. Drawing parallels between baseball and life, he offers practical tools for high-performance environments, emphasizing clarity, teamwork, and resilience. In addition to his sports career, Casey is deeply committed to supporting children and adults with special needs through his work at Casey's Clubhouse in Upper St. Clair, PA. With baseball as the foundation, Casey's Clubhouse creates a community of acceptance for people with disabilities, fostering meaningful relationships both on and off the field. In partnership with his team, Casey also launched The Next Inning concession stand, a job-training program for kids and adults with special needs, where many athletes earn their first paycheck. During the Casey's Clubhouse season, Sean is a hands-on supporter—announcing games, pitching, and inspiring players with his legendary lefty swing. |
